Texas VA Loan Programs
Eligible veterans may use VA guaranteed home loans for buying an existing home, building a new home, simultaneously purchase and improve a home, refinance an existing VA mortgage loan, or improve a home by installing energy-efficient features. In addition, loans for the purchase of a farm residence to be occupied by the veteran are also eligible for guaranty.
Fixed rate, adjustable rate, and hybrid loan programs are available at terms up to 30 years on owner-occupied real property located in the United States, its territories, or possessions.
The Texas Veterans Land Board offers three programs in addition to traditional VA home loan financing. These are the Veterans Housing Assistance Program (VHAP), the Veterans Land Board Home Improvement Program, and the Land Program. Additional information on these three programs can be found at http://www.glo.state.tx.us/vlb/ or by calling us at (832) 286-1600.
